Property sales in Spain are on the rise
The housing market has started 2025 with growth, following the same trend as last year.
According to notary data, 55,344 property transactions were concluded in January, up 11.5% year-on-year, and 28,127 mortgages were issued, up 23.8% compared to the first month of 2024. Prices, meanwhile, rose 6.1% year-on-year, reaching €1,860 per m², the second highest figure on record.
The transactions that grew the most were those of private homes, up 20.9% year-on-year, reaching 13,215 units. Meanwhile, apartment sales rose 8.8% year-on-year, reaching 42,129 units. In terms of the total number of transactions, Andalusia was the leader with 10,795 transactions in the housing market, followed by the Valencian Community (8,605), Catalonia (8,331) and Madrid (6,988).
